My biggest takeaway from this experience was an unintended one.
The critics have no idea what people like. This movie is perfectly fine. I get it that maybe it’s schlocky and maybe it’s Oscar-baity but... a lot of people like movies like that. My grandma and mom will love this movie.
It’s not my favorite movie of the year, but the hate this movie has garnered is laughable. It’s actually a heartfelt and beautiful film about growth and family.
