Review of Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party (2016) by Trevor D — 24 Jan 2017
Just ignoring the political issues and extreme biases presented, its plain a simply a bad movie. The cinematography is lazy and sub-par, which does not complement the low quality look of the overall film.
D'Souza throughout seems bored and uninterested in what he's talking about. Its seemingly one of the most boring movies I've seen, and boring is not something you want associated with your movie.
Now getting more into the political talk, honestly people, we should not define this documentary as a documentary. This piece is more of a wishful tale from someone who I do believe really does care about his beliefs, which I completely respect, and the fact he managed to get a film out of it is commendable.
However I think it would have been better if he showed people making counter arguments and him trying to defend his beliefs instead of him showing them as fact as if it were common knowledge. Overall, it needed more effort put into it, show more sides, defend your viewpoint, get a better cinematographer, and get a better idea.
