Review of Hilary and Jackie (1998) by Austin S — 10 Jun 2007

I think this movie is very depressing, but very depressing is good in my book for movies. I wish that this film had a more public appeal because, let's face it, the music world hasn't had a film as successful as Amadeus for a while.

I think Hilary and Jackie is intriguing and a provocative story. True, aspects of the story have been romanticized, but I like that approach because it makes the viewer curious and more apt to research how faithful the storyline is in comparison to documented events.
