Review of Hilary and Jackie (1998) by Lindsey G — 27 Aug 2010
Perhaps musicians shouldn't watch films about other musicians. I spent most of the time critiquing the actors' fingerings and bow usage and the soundtrack. That being said, splitting the film into two sections to see the same events from two individuals' perspectives was a nice addition to the usual biopic architecture, and Emily Watson was luminous (as she always is), though a seriously sub-par cellist.
