Review of Highway 61 (1991) by Courtney S — 06 May 2008
I cannot sing Don McKellar's praises enough. He is the star and writer of this odd little movie. I've figured out that at least for things he writes and acts in, there's this great balancing act between the mundane and the absurd that is very effective.
He tends to play mild-mannered guys, but with every encounter they become more and more strange and complex. Like the TV show "Twitch City." I personally love his deadpan style and he is a really good actor.
In addition, of course, to being one of the most prolific film artists in Canada. He's insane and sexy and wonderful. I highly recommend this film.
