Review of Highway (2002) by Elaine M — 05 Dec 2007
Leto and Gyllenhaal are both consistently fantastic in all their films, including this dark comedy drama about a pool boy on the run from a gang hired by the husband of a woman he slept with. It's less complex than it sounds, and although the ending is in a word, garbage, there are enough laughs to render it rewatchable.
Selma Blair plays a transparent tag-along, who contributes only to the trashy romance, and not at all to the comedy value, but she doesn't get in the way too much...
