Review of Highly Dangerous (1950) by Jamie D — 15 Jan 2010
This is a so-so film from today's view and doesn't really get going until the end. Margaret Lockwood is absolutely brilliant in this though. Seriously puts modern actresses to shame. The scenes are usually based around two people but this chain is broken towards the end of the film.
Lockwood is bazarrely some kind of insect specialist going undercover. Its odd to imagine a modern actress talking about parasites this intellegently. Overall, 2 stars from me as although its not a bad film, it suffers because the story is a bit bewildering and its a bit slow for todays audience.
Also unfortunately, its in Black and White, which doesn't enhance or hinder the film, but once again doesn't help it in the light of modern audience.
