Review of Highlander: The Source (2007) by Jon C — 16 Jan 2008
I gave it 2 stars for the fact it's got High and lander in the title! But, out of all the films following the classic original, this is possible the worst. Makes EndGame look like a master peice. The story idea isn't bad, it's just very poorly produced. Ropey Efx. A Kurgan wannabe badguy/guardian character and some bad acting. Even Adrian Paul (also a producer) doesn't seem to be with it. Its a shame. A really missed opportunity. Some other vocalists singing classic highlander/queen songs does not make a good sound track! Truely bad vocals! I hope there's no soundtrack CD.
The film kind of ties up a few loose ends, sort of tries to answer a question about the source of their powers without the highlander 2 alien angle. And it could be argued that the it opens new ground for any further films. Although, unless they really up the budget etc, then I don't think they need to bother.
