Review of Highlander: The Source (2007) by Stephen M — 08 Mar 2008
Duncan McLeod and fellow immortals begin a quest for a secret and mythological source that is the Holy Grail for the world of immortals. With the world falling apart and quickly into Chaos, Macleod teams up with his friends, watcher Joe Dawson and mysterious immortal Methos. Doubt sets in that the source is real and the group is hunted by an evil, cynical immortal called The Guardian. The Guardian has his own plans for The Source, wanting to manipulate the power to rule the world.
Highlander: The Source fails on so many levels. Highlander fans will be extremely disappointed in this movie as this movie, easily places ahead of the second on the worst of the franchise. Where to start with this movie of what went wrong in making this film, there are so many spots. First off this movie is a Sci-fi productions movie that was planned as a trilogy. After viewing this one, hopefully that idea was scrapped. Also why can?t Sci-Fi productions make a good movie? Next the script was horrid. Stale lines and the acting of the film told that story as you can see everyone just walking through the movie with no motivation or care in the world. The overall look of the film was garbage. The movie looked so cheesy and fake, the film mirrored the script. This movie is an absolute slap in the face to any Highlander fan of the movies, TV series, and books. Highlander 5: The Source receives only one quickening out of five for being so utterly bad, that the movie should have been advertised as a comedy.
