Review of Highlander: The Source (2007) by Philip S — 10 Apr 2008
I recommend that any fan of the Highlander franchise avoids this film completely. I was hugely disappointed with this film as I am a massive fan of the Highlander series and Adrian Paul.
The problem with this film is that it does not set up a decent narrative. The story lacks credibility and does not add anything new to the world of Immortals; it only confuses things. One of the great things about the Highlander series is that it explores world history and it has amazing sword-wielding fight sequences, which are not at all present in this film. The fight sequences lack style, grace, and even MacLeod's iconic katana sword is broken in two at the start of the film only to be replaced by two crappy daggers. The few cgaracters that are in the film are not established and even the characters from the series are not given an adequate introduction.
I was thoroughly disappointed with this film...
