Review of Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) by Corey B — 28 Feb 2009
What a strange and bizarre sequel. I saw the director's cut, so it apparently makes more sense, but still....Connery really doesn't do anything, everyone brutally hams it up, and Mulcahy seems to give up on the film by the end.
I was actually enjoying it for the first 45 minutes or so where it has a tone more in line with the first movie (Mulcahy never met an explosion he didn't love), but the last half feels rushed and sloppy.
The final fight scene lasts about a minute.
