Review of Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) by Carlos S — 08 Jul 2009
When this came out it was slammed and looking back I can understand that. It is no where near as good as the original and feels very different to that film. But, almost 20 years later and having the director go back and fix all the things that the producers screwed up, it is not as bad as it was at first release. Find a copy of the directors edition and you will see the film it could have been. Gone is the alien plot line, they are now an ancient race who can travel through time. The shield now looks correct, and the scene above the shield is great and I'm not sure why it was cut??
Overall, not a great sequel, if there was no first film, this would have been given more credit, but this is not the bad film it was made out to be at it release. Watch it again and just have some fun.
