Review of Highlander (1986) by Richie E — 24 Jul 2013
I'm not going to ignore the fact that this movie is delightfully cartoonish, but it somehow manages to be both entertaining and somewhat poignant. The sword fights are expertly put together, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown each give their characters something to remember, and the film manages to keep an uplifting message among all the action.
THis is the best kind of action movie: one with well thought-out writing and a genuine heart.
