Review of Highlander (1986) by David H — 06 Jan 2010
An awesome, kick-ass, blood pumping wonderful masterpiece! One of the most amazing fantasy/action films I've ever seen. Highlander starts off pretty weird with it's opening title sequence with Queen music over playing, but when it REALLY begins you are gripped in to the movie. You really get into the film with each mysterious amazing scene. Christopher Lambert's acting is not bad but there are times when he acts pretty corny but he still maintains his bad ass image and Clancy Brown is amazing! He is definitely the spirit of the film, each scene he's in is brutally entertaining though it would've been better if Dolph Lundgren was casted as the Kurgan but Clancy Brown is just fine. Sean Connery's involvement is more of a few appearances than supporting acting. But Connery's scenes are what I enjoyed as much as Clancy Brown's scenes.
The film's story is very original and very inducing. Highlander is a classic! It's special effects are amazing, the story is outstanding and incredible, everything about this movie will entertain the hell out of you. This is a must-see for anyone who hasn't experienced the Highlander franchise. Highlander is definitely on the greatest movies of all times list. A true fantasy masterpiece!
