Review of Highlander (1986) by Tom B — 23 Jun 2011
The first noticable thing about Highlander is that it doesn't make any goddamn sense at all. Any indication as to what the hell is going on with the story can only be found on the back of the DVD case.
Despite this lack of a decent story, there's a lot of fun to be had here. Christopher Lambert gives a strange performance as Connor Macleod, and Sean Connery looks positively goofy in his Spanish outfits.
There's also some cheesy overacting courtesy of Clancy Brown as Kurgan, the bad guy. All of this films ridiculousness and cheesy, sword-slinging action make for an undeniably good time.
