I first saw this as a little kid, and only recently saw Philadelphia Story, on which this movie musical was based. They're both great, entertaining movies. What it lacks in plot, it makes up for in music - and Philadelphia's the opposite.
Needless to say, Philadelphia's Katharine Hepburn is a quirkier, more loveable socialite/heiress than Grace Kelly in High Society.
