Review of High-Rise (2015) by Chris F — 04 Jun 2016
High-Rise is an entertaining and thought-provoking film with great performances and great direction. Tom Hiddleston shines in his lead role. He allows us to like his character. Luke Evans and Jeremy Irons also give strong supporting performances.
The film's doesn't really have that strong of a plot. But its disorienting direction gives it is entertainment value. Director Ben Wheatley delivers strong visuals. He also delivers tension where there needs to be.
The film's story isn't that coherent. But it still is entertaining. There are many thought-provoking themes. I've never read the book this is based off of, but I am interested. Overall, this is a very unique drama with strong performances and strong direction.
