Review of High-Rise (2015) by Tamaryn B — 22 Mar 2016
Still not sure what to make of this one, all levels of society are meant to be represented in one tower block. Despite boasting a strong British cast, the movie doesn't really get going until the social structure in the flat starts falling apart and getting progressively worse - only then so some of the many characters come to life.
Everything Tom Hiddleston is in now seems like an audition for the next James Bond. He togs up well in a suit, or simply without - and is calm & suave (Roger Moore?). Anyway, I digress ... can't quite put my finger on it, but it's another film I came away thinking I wish they had done more with.
Interesting concept - okay performances.
