Review of High-Rise (2015) by Frank C — 27 Sep 2016
High-Rise is a quite pretty picture, with some stunning imagery and composition. Quite a bit happens in the course of the film, but it is difficult to say whether the film carries the substance to support the madness unfolding before our eyes.
An ensemble cast fill the screen, with an interesting choice of role for Tom Hiddleston and expected strong performances from Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller. Luke Evans surprises in a pivotal role, but ultimately High-Rise sizzles, and its message fails to elevate to the penthouse.
