Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Brad B — 08 Aug 2011
This Clint's second outing as director and his first go at directing a western.
While not as snappy as it could be in pacing it's still a enjoyable to watch the master of economic acting act work. With as few words as possible Clint can get his message across with no misinterpretations!
Good cast, fair amount of action, as far as Eastwood movies go although it does get weighed down at times with an air of seriousness but there are enough light moments to redeem it.
If you are a real fan of Eastwood you can appreciate Eastwood's lean towards emphasizing the mythic aspect of the American western, a theme he would return to over and over in his career.
