Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Bill W — 20 Dec 2007
Wow - talk about an anti-hero ahead of it's time. Clearly inspired by Kurosawa, this plays like UNFORGIVEN-lite in a good way. Eastwood descends on the town like a plague and burns it all to the ground before he's done.
Wonderful. And it's amazing that he's still likeable in the end despite his character being such a bastard. Just try not to get chills and an unsettled feeling in your gut in the end.
