Ok people get it right clint was the marshall hired by the towns people to protect their interests but when he found out the gold they mined was on government land he was going to report them so the town people hired some guns to kill him, he raped the woman cos she stood and laughed while he was being bullwhipped and the rest of the town was in on it so he took his revenge a yr later when thy thought he was dead only the woman at the inn knew who he was.
