Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Antonio V — 21 Sep 2008
Actually, initially I thought that High Plains Drifter is a bit too much in some ways, but after some subsequent viewings, it has proven to be a good western, albeit not a traditional one. Eastwood is really macho in this one (what a surprise) and it fits perfectly to the story.
And also, as Eastwood does decent work also as the director here, the movie is quite intense and flows pretty nicely forward. But like said, this is not the most conventional western so if you like John Wayne movies, this might be a bit too much for you.
For others I can easily recommend this.
