Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Alejandro E — 24 Nov 2009
I'm a huge Western fan, but I have to admit, I'm old fashioned. I like my heroes to be good, and not just the best of a bunch of bad guys. First of all, the rape scene at the beginning didn't help.
The good guy isn't supposed to do something like that. He's supposed to shoot guys who do that. But, there are some good action scenes, and it's hard not to like any Western Eastwood made.
But, this is not one of my favorites! In fact, it comes in at the bottom of my list. I know everyone has their flaws, and no hero is perfect, but they don't have to be outright criminals.
