Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Martin T — 25 Dec 2009
Violent, cruel and creepy. "High Plains Drifter" is a masochistic and atmospheric western with a supernatural bent. This is Eastwood's first western as a director and it remains one of his best.
"The Stranger" (Clint Eastwood) rides out of the desert and into the town of Lago, an unfriendly town with a dark secret and soon all hell breaks loose. "High Plains Drifter" is not exactly political correct, and if you are easily offended you should stear clear.
But if you're a fan of Clint, or the revisionist westerns of the 70s - you'll love it!
