Review of High Plains Drifter (1973) by Chandler A — 12 Feb 2012
"It couldn't be worse if the Devil himself had ridden straight into Lago!". Clint Eastwood's awesome revenge, with more than a shot of the supernatural. Clint of course is the mysterious stranger who turns a seedy coastal town on its head as they prepare for the arrival of three vengeful bandits.
Reworking Western greats High Noon and Bad Day at Black Rock with a style and soul of its own, this is somewhat of an overlooked film in the Eastwood canon but its surely one of his greats. Brilliant.
