Review of High Fidelity (2000) by Ashley H — 22 Jul 2012
It begins interestingly enough: John Cusack doing the victimized cynic and mugging it up, snappy dialogue, smart storybuilding, flashy cinematography... And then it all descends into a hotbed of whiny "why did she break up with me", incessant Top 5 lists, and a couple of really annoying music snobs that are really easy to hate.
Oh, and also random sex in a car with a grieving ex after going to her father's funeral. Cusack's character whines, complains, cries, and yells his way through a movie that has sparks of wonderful greatness.
