Review of High Anxiety (1977) by Paul C — 22 Aug 2009
The movie was decent, but not the best on Mel Brooks plate. Mel Brooks himself was pretty good in the film. Some of the other actors and actresses just didn't cut it for the film. Harvey Korman was pretty funny in the film and Madeline Kahn did ok.
The movie was basically making fun of many Alfred Hitchcock films. Some like Psycho, The Birds and Vertigo. My favorite scene was making fun of The Birds. Instead of being attacked by birds, Mel Brooks was being pooped on by pigeons.
That was a great scene. So overall it was an ok film. It just need a lot more humor. At least it did have a few memorial scenes.
