Review of High and Low (1933) by Alister N — 05 Jun 2007
Like so many of Kurosawa's film, this is steepid in rich symbolism, but the thrilling way the narrative unfolds makes for gripping accessability too. Tighter editing wouldn't have hurt, but the cast and influential story eschews some of the director's best.
