Review of High and Low (1933) by Donovan D — 23 Sep 2007
Excellent crime film that once again proves Kurosawa was as good in a contemporary setting as he was making his more celebrated samurai flicks. High and Low feels very American compared even to other films by Kurosawa, and would be an excellent entry point for noir fans looking to get into the Japanese master.
