Review of High and Low (1933) by Murray S — 20 Oct 2008
A great story that stays interesting the whole way through. It's quite long but it uses that time to show all the ins and outs of what it takes to solve a crime, and I enjoyed it more for that. Like a 10 minute scene of a roomful of cops each reporting their findings on different aspects of the case.
You really get a feel of what it's like to be a part of an investigation. A lot of Kurosawa-regulars are in this, and are great as usual.
