Review of Hidden Figures (2016) by Amy D — 11 Mar 2017
This was a great movie. It is not at all a dry history lesson. Hidden Figures has suspense in the space missions. It has powerful human drama mainly dealing with race and gender in the work place but also in their personal lives of the three women.
They have a beautiful connection and friendship that demonstrates how these women dealt with the unfair treatment they got at NASA. NASA as a workplace gets a real butt kicking. Doesn't make me want to work there but these three women were true engineers and mathematicians.
They just loved the work. Well this movie brought up some good discussions about race and gender in the US and in engineering for my husband and I. Hidden Figures is thought provoking and entertaining.
