Review of Hidalgo (2004) by Robert H — 07 Mar 2011
There is enough in this film to please both kids and adults alike. Though many of the messages and material will be too much for the little ones, there are cute little comedic gestures by Hidalgo and plenty of action to keep their interest.
The nice thing about this film is that it isn't just a standard feel good race film. There are some nice side stories that help add a little extra intrigue to the main story.
Another nice and somewhat unexpected aspect for a Disney film was the amount of subtitles used in the film. Between the native american and arabian there was a good deal of translation needed and provided.
Not your standard Disney film... which was nice (even if it is technically a Touchstone film).
