This is an odd movie. it's a drama, and the roles are performed with 100% believable commitment, but the characters are so silly and the music cues are so funny, it betrays the intent. it doesn't earn any of its dramatic moments because I feel its dramatic intent is.
..misplaced. and it's full of indie movie cliches: unstable family, cheap photography, writier-indulgent monologues that serve no greater purpose. a broad and silly, akward and uneven movie.
