Review of Hesher (2010) by Tierah H — 14 Apr 2012
This is a movie that made me hope I knew how it would turn out, but terrified that something horrible would happen and take it completely away in that way that some writers like to use to destroy your hopes and dreams.
Not that that's a bad thing, mind, it can make for a great movie. This movie hangs on the edge of a knife and you know that only one little thing could make the characters go completely berserk, and it's riveting.
The grief and sorrow is so real, the despair and even the pleasure are so well acted. As dirty and uncouth as Hesher is, he's the good one, the voice of sense, even when he's swearing and calling people cunts.
He is the meaning of 'not giving a fuck', even when you can tell he does.
