Review of Hesher (2010) by Jason M — 06 Sep 2012
As memorable as it is dark, Hesher is a no-holds-barred twist of comedy and drama. Director Spencer Susser trades traditional plot progression for an intimate examination of the effects of death, loss, and chaos.
Frontman Joseph Gordon-Levitt lives and breathes his roles opposite a superb performance by Devin Brochu, all along with a clever (if eccentric) script and charismatic soundtrack. While its morals may be fuzzy, Hesher's emotional resonance cannot be denied.
