Review of Hesher (2010) by R D — 16 Feb 2013
Everyone who gave Hesher a low rating, I'm guessing didn't finish the movie. It's too bad, because this movie is just as deep (if not deeper) than The Life of Pi. The anger and depression this film portrays is the catalyst for the deeper feelings of love, and the understanding of our world's misplaced sense of "how bad everything is".
The character Hesher is the angry Jesus that said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." Through destruction of the fake, pointless, and abusive ideals something new & better will arise.
I challenge anyone to find a 5 star movie that has that poignant of a statement about our ideals. Beside the deep meaning of the film the acting (all the actors), story, timing, drama, comedy, and cinematography are all perfectly executed.
That made this a 5 star film for me.
