Review of He's Just Not That Into You (2009) by Dann M — 13 Jun 2013
He's Just Not That Into You is a smart and funny romantic comedy that's based on a bestselling novel. The film follows several interconnecting stories of romance as the characters find themselves dealing with different aspects of relationships.
The writing is especially good, particularly in how it weaves the stories together and develops the characters without any of them feeling short changed or under used. Additionally, the ensemble cast is outstanding, and features Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, and Ginnifer Goodwin.
The directing is also very impressive, and uses a meta narrative that keeps the tone lighthearted. Charming and funny, He's Just Not That Into You is a heartfelt and entertaining look at the complexities of relationships.
