I was very dissapointed with this highly rated martial arts epic. The fight choregoraphy is good and artistically its a very pretty film, but the story is just very poor. Seeing the same characters "die" 4 or 5 times before they finally die for good come the end of the film means what is supposed to emotional ends up having no resonance whatso ever.

House of flying daggers I s far better.
