I think I like silly wuxia better than tragic wuxia, and Hero is definitely tragic wuxia. Also, I feel like it's secretly about Maoism? I'm not entirely sure why Zhang Ziyi was in this movie, and Jet Li is not nearly as interesting as Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung are, but generally it's nice enough.
