Review of Hero (2007) by Viktor B — 21 Jul 2013
One of the greatest martial arts films ever made. This transcends wu xia and becomes a pure work of art from excellent cinematography and atmosphere, to masterful acting and fight scenes that are as beautiful to behold as they are thrilling.
Some have misinterpreted the film as an endorsement of autocracy, but the story is really one about the nature of the cycle of violence and its consequences.
