Review of Hero (2002) by Josh H — 16 Jul 2010
Based on somewhat real event's, Hero is Epic, Large & Grand on scale as one of the best Weapon Martial Art features on screen since "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon".
One of the first times I have ever, seen a Japanese film with English Audio, I tell ya I myself would rather have Subtitles.
Superstar's Jet-Li and Andy Lau star, Andy lau is surprisingly everywhere I go I Japanese cinema and no exception he plays he's deepest role in this movie,.
I must say it, the story can become quite confusing during the middle of the film, I mean I know the entire premise and all, but you will lose that.
Visually though the film never dies down, something beautiful always happens within the next scene, which is kinda ironic knowing there are people fighting to the death around it, Is it making the message that with all conflict surrounding the area beauty can be found and made out of it?.
Final Verdict: I've waited 6 years to finally see it, I feel as though I have missed out big time.
