Review of Hereditary (2018) by Garth W — 19 Jun 2018
As a horror fan, I was excited to see this movie. It seemed as though it had so much promise. However, I was vastly disappointed. It was incredibly slow through the first half. As in, I was literally bored.
Around the middle, it picked up. There was 1 very jarring moment. Then a few good startle scares. 1 semi creepy moment. Then ridiculousness. The end was absurd. I literally laughed several times as they wrapped this up.
I kept thinking, "Really?". I wanted to like it. I really, really did. But it was just... disappointing and silly. I apologized to my husband for dragging him to this movie and I'm not sure he forgives me.
