Review of Hereditary (2018) by Shadowspark _ — 19 Jun 2018
Talk about disappointing :( This movie had a great cast, fantastic camera work and a good score but squandered them on a meandering, going-nowhere-fast muddled story. This is less a horror than a boring psychological study of a family unable to process emotion.
It could have been great if the director had followed through on the supernatural elements, but he never really commits to them. He has potential as a feature film director but feature length horror may not be his forte.
I never thought I'd say this about any movie, but this one could have used a few jump scares. On the upside though, the performances were great, but I still struggled to make it to the end of the movie out of sheer boredom.
