Review of Hereditary (2018) by Amanda M — 13 Jun 2018
I wouldn't go as far as calling this the scariest movie of the year by any means, but it surely did live up to the strong culty-vibe that it was dubbed early on. The filming, levels of meaning, close attention to detail and the story are just a few of the reasons one should take the two plus hours and watch the flick.
Alex Wolff however has not changed one bit since his Naked Brothers Band days, just to be honest. Other than he and his performance, the rest of the actors went above and beyond and fir their characters extremely well and added even more to the deep film.
Though I said before it is not the scariest movie, in no way do I mean that there weren't times that I felt uncomfortable. Learning about the dark pasts of the grandmother and her daughter, who is mother of the two seemingly unstable children, tension begins to grow within you that is hard to explain.
And without giving much else away, I'll end here as I still am trying to figure out exactly what this movie left me feeling like.
