Review of Hereditary (2018) by Shane C — 19 Jun 2018

Hereditary is a much-needed divergence from the current definition of a horror film. The entire movie challenged the audience to be aware of everything and pay attention to scenes that seemed too unimportant or random while later having a deeper meaning (I could give several examples but I do not want to spoil)! The director really paid attention to small details that allow the audience to figure out what actually is happening in the movie before the final few scenes.

Also, the imagery in this movie was used extremely well. However, this movie might fall flat with some audiences because they were not paying attention to the movie's details. One thing I will say is that, if you were a fan of Donnie Darko, this movie will not disappoint you!
