My favourite thing about the movie that it is insanely clever. It is all about schizophrenia. One very important symptom is that the person is unable to tell the difference between reality and their minds' doing.
You watch the film. Something supernatural happens. Then it seems that it did not happen. You can explain everything with spiritual and supernatural forces, but you can also explain everything from the perspective of a mental disorder.
The grandmother's heritage gives the title of the film. This heritage can either be the spiritual cult, but it can also be the mental disorder that is hereditary.
