The horror genre is a hard one to survive in these days. most ideas have been taken. most movies leave your mouth agape with yawns instead of horror as you watch yet another slasher stalk the alleyways.
this movie however, wasn't just a horror movie, it defined the nature of pure doom. the feeling of helplessness against an unstoppable fate. no cheap scares, no nauseating special effects. just a family in the grips of evil, and their slow descent into madness.
one of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time.
