Review of Hereafter (2010) by Ben H — 07 Jan 2012
This film took me by surprise. I thought from the trailer that the film was gonna be like a 6th Sense like film. However, I found the film very interesting and entertaining with great performances. Good directing job by Eastwood here. True this is a film that M. Night Shymalan would have made. I could also see Stephen Soderbergh directing it too and giving the film a similar style like he did with Traffic, meaning he would have probably shot each of the 3 story lines to have a different look. The film is basically dealing with these 3 characters and how they intersect at the end.
The performances are very good, especially by Matt Damon, Cecile De France, and the boy in the film. All 3 of them shine here. Also good supporting work here from Bryce Dallas Howard and Jay Mohr. The Tsunami scene in the film is amazing.
I definitely recommend this film.
