Review of Here Comes the Navy (1934) by Bill M — 15 Jul 2011
If nothing else, this film is very significant from a historical perspective in that it was largely filmed aboard the actual USS Arizona. A few scenes (the turret gunpowder incident) were shot on a stage, but most of the scenes were aboard Arizona.
I've actually wondered for years why the Arizona Memorial and the museum at Pearl Harbor never picked up this movie and issued it to raise funds for the memorial. just a thought....
